Meet the Cast of Roger & Tom
Teralyn Tanner (Penny)
Terayln is so thankful and thrilled to be working with this script and the amazing theatre artists at What If? Productions. She earned her MFA in Acting from the University of Montana. In her career as a performer and teacher she has had the privilege to tour the world with Missoula Children's Theatre, the Montana Repertory Theatre as well as develop a theatre program in Daegu, South Korea. Since moving to Charleston she's played some of her favorite roles: Shirley Valentine in Shirley Valentine (Theatre Charleston Outstanding Actress Award), Dolly in One Man, Two Guvnors, and Rita in Educating Rita. When not on stage she is working with her own theatre company Storytree Theatre bringing theatre into schools with professional touring shows and teaching standards based curriculum with the power of theatre.
Daniel Breuer (Rich/Will)
Daniel is excited to be in his first show with What If? Productions. Previously, Daniel has appeared locally on stage with Midtown Productions in I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change and with Flowertown Players in The Mousetrap. Before moving to Daniel Island last year, he performed on multiple stages in and around Charlotte, NC. When not on stage, Daniel does math for a living. He'll be happy to recite the first 24 digits of π for you!
Darryl LaPlante (Roger)
As a What If? Collective member, Darryl has worn many hats – actor, director, assistant director, photographer/videographer and more. Canadian born, Darryl is nearly a lifelong resident of Charleston who graduated from Winthrop University with a BA in Theatre Performance. He was last seen in What If’s 2014 world premiere of Accepting Applications for a Muse and Threshold Rep’s 2014 production of The Sunset Years. Other regional acting credits include Hearts Full of Blood, The Bible: Abridged, Don’t Dress for Dinner and Dog Sees God. Darryl also directed What If?’s world premiere of The Practice Child and How to Field Dress an Android.
Kyle Barnette (Director)
One of the two co-founders of What If? Productions, Kyle serves as the Founding Artistic Director of the theatre and has directed many of the company’s most acclaimed and celebrated productions including Hedwig & the Angry Inch, Cabaret, Thrill Me:The Leopold and Loeb Story, Five Lesbians Eating A Quiche, The House of Yes and Kate & Sam Are Not Breaking Up. As a What If? Collective member he was mostly seen on stage as J.D. in The Trials and Tribulations of a Trailer Trash Housewife and has also appeared Hearts Full of Blood and Bash. Also a proud Charleston Stage company member, he most recently co-starred in Shear Madness. Next for What If? he will direct the world premiere of last year’s Playwrights Festival winner The Cannibals which features 2/3 of the cast of Roger&Tom!
