'Charleston's fiercest live singing contest & comedy extravaganza!'

What If? Productions kicks off our eighth season with the revival of our popular American Idol-style singing competition Karaoke Smackdown for one night only on Saturday Sept. 2. Featuring eight brave contestants vying for the title of Karaoke Smackdown Champion (and joining a short list of illustrious past winners), the competition features two rounds with contestants performing songs based on the event's theme. Past theme nights have included 80s Teen Idols & Gone Too Soon Dead Rock Stars. Our Labor Day Edition will feature songs about working or relaxing or even having a baby....(stretching out that Labor Day theme as you can tell!).

Round One has each contestant performing a song of their choice, while Round Two sees our final three (selected by the judges) performing a song assigned by the judges from a pre-selected list of ten possible songs (contestants will have this list ahead of the competition). All three finalists receive prizes with the winner taking home a cash prize and the title of Karaoke Smackdown Champ.

Audience members will have a chance to get in on the fun between rounds by participating in our always unpredictable Karaoke Roulette and help in selecting our winner with our audience vote.

Wine and beer bar will be open through the event.
