How do you measure ten years of successful survival in the arts in Charleston?

We think it can be found in the thriving partnerships we’ve shared with other arts organizations in town over the years. It can be seen in our unique relationship with a Chicago-based theatre which allowed us to bring new original works of theatre such as Hearts Full of Blood, Kate & Sam Are Not Breaking Up and the now legendary Five Lesbians Eating A Quiche to the people of the Lowcountry. It’s there in our ever expanding Playwrights Festival summer programs which has fostered the works of new and emerging artists throughout the years and the expansion of our programming into our WIP Piano Bar Series.

Most notably you can measure it in the critically acclaimed work of one of Charleston’s most eclectic and unique theatre companies. One that is constantly evolving and challenging itself to present memorable and meaningful works of art to our audiences. From our most recent triumph of our biggest production to date, the musical Hair, to tackling tough social issues in shows like The Trials and Tribulations of a Trailer Trash Housewife and from the challenge of taking sizable works and stripping them down to their bare essence (Cabaret, Amadeus) to the minimalist approach to works such as Thrill Me and Stupid F**king Bird, What If? is always able to put our very special stamp on all that we contribute to the arts in Charleston.

As we begin a landmark tenth anniversary season of bringing live, quality professional theatre to Charleston and the Lowcountry, we hope you will continue with us on this journey.  It’s an inspiring and challenging one that takes us into a new, bigger home at the Queen Street Playhouse and will see growing arts partnerships as well as an exciting reinvention of our signature Playwrights Festival.

We hope you will consider making a contribution to What If? in celebration of our ten years of providing our weird and wonderful brand of theatre to our beloved city. You can donate either online HERE or by clicking the button below to make your tax-deductible donation.

We truly thank you from the bottom our of heart for your continued faith and support of What If? Productions.
