About WIP

HISTORY

What If? Productions was founded in 2010 by Kyle Barnette and Brian Porter, two ambitious actors who met as fellow artists on stage at Memphis, TN's acclaimed Playhouse on the Square. What If?  produced its inaugural production Hedwig & the Angry Inch, starring Porter and directed by Barnette, at the historic American Theatre on Upper King Street in Charleston. The company's first season was produced in both the black box space at 477 King St. (past home of Pure Theatre) as well as Theatre 99 on Meeting St. before moving in residence at the Threshold Theatre on Society St. through 2018.

Since its inception Barnette has maintained the company's artistic helm as the Founding Artistic Director along with Founding Director Porter.
